Leaving your pet overnight can be as hard for the owner as it is for your furry friend. We know that it’s not an easy decision leaving your dog behind while you head out of town. Although we’d love to bring our furry friends with us on our travels, it’s not always the safest option.
Because we know that you want your furry friend to be safe and comfortable while you’re away, look into sending them on their all-inclusive stay at Tailwaggers Country Inn. Whether you’re away for a long weekend or a week-long trip, it’s smart to prepare your dog in advance.
Here are things to consider before leaving your pet overnight:
Don’t Stress About Your Pet’s ID
When your dog stays at Tailwaggers Country Inn, you don’t have to worry about making sure your collar and ID tag is up to date. When you arrive, our friendly staff will make your pet their computer-generated ID that states their age, breed, parent’s name, and all of their contact information.
For your pet’s safety, we ask that you remove your dog’s collars so they can safely play with the other pups staying at our Inn.
Keep Things Normal While You’re Away
Regardless of where your pet stays while you’re away, keep their routine as normal as possible. To ease your nerves, you can even write a detailed schedule of their day, so their caretaker is aware of their normal routine. You can also include special diet requests, favorite toys, and times when they usually unwind.
Keep Your Goodbyes Short
Although goodbyes are tough, when it’s time to leave, you’ll want to keep your goodbye short and sweet. A long, emotional goodbye can add unnecessary extra stress to your pet. To help make the goodbye a little easier, spend some extra time with them in the days leading up to you leaving.
